Lydiard Park Try-Orienteering 16/06/02

More than 40 people tried one of the three courses on offer – to those new to the sport, we hoped you enjoyed yourselves and will have another ‘go’ in the near future. This web-site has details of all forthcoming local events, including one at West Woods, near Marlborough, on 30th June.

This was not a timed event, so there are no results as such. The yellow course was a 2.0 km stroll and should have taken no more than 30 minutes or so. Feedback from those on the Orange course indicated that most took between 25 minutes and 45 minutes, depending on whether you walked, jogged or ran. Fastest known finisher on the ‘Spanish Score’ course appropriately enough was Laia Santamaria with a time of 28 minutes, although many others recorded times of between 28-35 minutes.

We would like to thank Swindon Borough Council and the staff at Lydiard for allowing us to hold the event. All profits from the event have been donated to the Cancer Research UK ‘Race for Life’ fund.
