Hardenhuish Try O

North Wiltshire Orienteers Posted on 22nd November 2015 by admin12th December 2015

To celebrate 50 years of orienteering in the South West NWO put on Try Orienteering Event at Hardenhuish Park in Chippenham. This consisted of 6 events, including a maze, a treasure hunt,  a photo course,  a sprint , a score and a 2.4 k course. Times for the three courses are listed under Results

Congratulations to Paul Gebbett who won the combined event (sprint, score and 2.4km) in 43:05.

Newcomer Ian Trussler posted:  “I do believe in trying new things occasionally. Today was the first time I had tried orienteering. I wish I had tried it years ago. It’s everything I love – a run in nice countryside, some technical map-reading (not TOO technical but the better you are, the less mistakes you make!) and some really nice people. Not my last orienteering event!”
